Summer Horse Riding Daycamp

Is your child crazy about horses and ponies?? If you are looking for total horse immersion and a dream-come-true for your child, then Summer camp at Wynbrook is the place to be this summer!

2020 Session

Offering 1 Two-week session this year:
Monday, July 20 – Friday, July 24 and
Monday, July 27 – Friday, July 31

A Horse or Pony of your very own

We are pleased to offer our 34th season of summer daycamps, for children between the ages of 7 and 14 years. Our campers will develop and discover the bond with a horse or pony of their very own for the two weeks, and will learn the basics of horsemanship, grooming, handling and practical horse care.

Daycamp Schedule

Camp activities begin at 9:00am and end at 4:00pm, (drop off anytime after 8:00 am and pick up before 4:30 pm). We can help arrange for car-pooling, or early drop offs, or late pick-ups should that be necessary. The children will ride twice every day with a morning instructional lesson, and an afternoon “pony game” which could include mounted games, bareback, trail riding etc.

Swimming, hikes & scavenger hunts!

Children will have access to our “lounge” with the use of a fridge and microwave for their lunches, and we offer our above ground swimming pool for a refreshing break from the heat and all of the pony excitement! Nature hikes, arts and crafts, trampoline, and scavenger hunts round out some of the fun activities offered in our full day camp program.

Building Self-Esteem & Confidence

As riding is such a unique sport, and requires more time to develop the relationship with an animal, we offer only a two-week session which will raise your child’s self-esteem and confidence as he or she will return to the second week with already made friends, and an established connection with their horse or pony.

Horse Show Day

On the last day of camp, Friday, July 31st, 2020 at 1:00pm, the children will perform a “horse show” for their parents, and friends to enjoy, as they demonstrate a variety of skills they have learned during their camp – don’t forget your camera! All campers will receive a camp T-shirt as well as their very first horse show ribbon as a keepsake of their time spent at Wynbrook Farm.

Daycamp Fees

The 2020 fee for camp is: $915 including HST for the two week session, and we limit our enrollment to 18 children.

With a team of 4-5 staff members, we can easily divide the children into 2 or 3 smaller groups for the riding lessons, and maintain our standards of safety and professional care as high as ever.

All of our saddles are equipped with safety “break away” stirrups, and we offer a limited supply of ASTM safety approved helmets to lend during our camp. All campers are required to have their own riding pants (breeches, or leggings) and paddock boots, or equivalent boots with a small heel.
